About
Bee-eaters (Merops apiaster) are migratory birds belonging to the Meropidae family, Coraciiformes order, and are among the most beautiful migratory birds that transit through Romania.
The bee-eater, a legally protected bird, is the size of a thin, long, bent-beaked blackbird with long wings, short legs, a lively colored feathering and a long tail. It makes its nest in steep, tall walls, in clavey and sunny banks, where it digs deep galleries of 1,5 - 2 meters.
In Reghin such birds cand be found in the Round Forest area in the pits of clay near the relay and by the riverside.
