The Deda-Toplița Gorge, geographically located in Mureș County, is a particularly picturesque region.
The rugged cliff of Căliman and Gurghiu volcanic mountains are completely pierced by the Mureș River over a distance of about 30 km.The most spectacular part of the Mureş Gorge is situated near Sălard village.
The rapid waters of the gorge are ideal for practicing rafting on Mureş, especially in the spring.
