The Central Park

The river cobblestones were taken off the site of the former central market in 1959. They were then arranged in the park that dominates the city center.

The statues of Petru Maior and Mihai Eminescu (poet) are the works of artist Ion Vlasiu. Other statues represent Constantin Romanu-Vivu and Patriciu Barbu, other two sons of the city.

The park has a number of walkways surrounded by vegetation, a fountain and playgrounds for children.
