About
The Evangelical Church is the oldest building in town, dating back to the end of the 13th century as evidenced by the oldest stone Latin inscription in Transylvanian Middle Ages.
This monument has many valuable architectural elements such as the frame of a Gothic window dating back to 1400, decorated with anthropomorphic figures, unique consoles in Transylvania, telling of a treasure hidden in the church, the first coat of arms of the city with the inscription O.P.R. which attests Reghin’s privilege to hold fairs.
The 47-meter high tower with the four turrets attests Reghin’s right to appear in court.
Each year, classical music resounds from the organ of the church, thanks to the most illustrious organists of the world who honor the annual organ concerts.
